Today marks the beginning of #VolunteersWeek 2019 🎉
The leaders, committee and members of our club would like to spend this week thanking each volunteer in our ever-growing team. <3 We all REALLY appreciate the time and energy you put into Gateway… we couldn’t run without each of you. YOU ARE ALL AMAZING! 🤩
We know everyone is busy with studying, exams, work and families but you remain dedicated and committed to serving our members and give it your all every week… for that we, THANK YOU! 👏💕
Wednesday night is your night… 😀🥰
Today is #AutismAwarenessDay, also known as #AutismAcceptanceDay.
No matter what this day is called, let’s use it to promote acceptance and celebrate the vast and amazing diversity within our community. How boring would life be without each of our differences?!
Having a diagnosis of Autism should not define a person. Someone who has Autism is human, they have a life, a family and loved ones, they can love, have friends, have a job, a social life and bring a valuable and insightful contribution to this world.
A person with Autism may experience life a little differently, but their experience should be respected and valued just the same.
We all share one world, let’s make it accepting and welcoming for everyone.
Here's the official launch video for Learning Disability Pride 2019. We want YOU to help us celebrate all things learning disability by sharing your own videos and photos with the hashtag #DoYourThing

The news you have all been waiting for...
On Sunday 16th December, Carrickfergus District Senior Gateway will be hosting 'Gateway's Christmas Cracker' - a show you won't want to miss!
It will be a night filled with lots of singing, dancing, acting and even a wee bite to eat and a cuppa, but only if you make Santa's nice list! ;)
We really hope to see you all there supporting the members hard work. If you would like to purchase tickets for the show, please contact one of our leaders; Thomas, Jenny, Nikki or in the club on Wednesday night.
I know tomorrow is only Halloween but I am going to mention the 'C' word - yes, Christmas!! We are so excited to be announcing a very special event soon. It may or may not be related to Christmas!
In the meantime, we think you should definitely keep Sunday 16th December 2018 free, you will not regret it!
Volunteers and Leaders had their annual training weekend last weekend.
It was jam packed with various training and awareness sessions that will be extremely beneficial to the club volunteers to help improve the service they are providing for our members. It included Autism, Epilepsy, Makaton and a Learning Disability Awareness session delivered by Rosie Edge from Mencap NI - Thank you Rosie!
All of our volunteers all already amazing, but we feel it is important for everyone to get that yearly refresher!
I think it is safe to say, everyone had a great time and got to know each other a lot better and now we can not wait to get back to the club tomorrow night :D
Each and every one of you are amazing !! It was a privilege to hand over a cheque to Dementia NI fundraising coordinator Fionnuala last Wednesday for a staggering total of £1418.50! This money will support people in our local community.
Thanks a million guys yous really are the best!
On Wednesday 19th September we will be holding a karaoke night for all of our members in the club. We hope to fundraise money for Dementia NI as
Today a group of volunteers and members helped with the water station at thr Storming the Castle 10k in Carrick. It was verrry wet and pretty miserable but everyone still had fun and enjoyed supporting the runners :-)
Big well done to all the runners who took part today!
Think it is fair to say that our annual Madge's Day out was a complete success! Everyone loved the show by Tilly and Jarl from Kablitz Entertainment, they were hilarious! Afterwards, we went to Loughshore Hotel for dinner and a disco... in case you have't noticed, we love to dance and party!
Check out the video of all our pictures, videos and memories from today and of the lovely Madge Wright. Remembered with love.
Was great to see everyone again! Won't be long before we are back to our regular Wednesday Nights :D
SEE YOU SOON!
